Happy for No Reason - Workshops
Based on Happy for No Reason
by Marci Shimoff
hosted by Esther

There was a time when I thought I was living my life to the fullest. My husband, son, and I had a wonderful life, filled with incredible experiences, including a year-long travel adventure we fondly called our 'adventure year.'
However, that journey took an unexpected turn in 2022 when a major health scare blindsided me. While relaxing on the couch after Thanksgiving, I discovered a lump in my breast, which led to a cancer diagnosis.
The year 2023 became my year of healing. I dedicated myself to discovering how to live an even richer, more fulfilling life.
We all have those moments, don't we? When life gets overwhelming, and it's hard to relax, even to breathe. It’s like retreating into a turtle shell.
Perhaps you've felt it—that struggle even to tackle daily tasks, or a deep sense of heaviness inside. Whatever the reason, your world feels turned upside down, we can navigate through it together and gently coax each other out of that shell.
As I mentioned, in mid-2023, I committed to finding ways to heal both my body and mind. During this quest, one of the most transformative programs I encountered was from the incredible Marci Shimoff, co-author of the beloved Chicken Soup for the Woman's Soul series. Marci has devoted her life to helping people find greater happiness.
One of her many powerful tools is her book, Happiness for No Reason. This isn't about skipping through life like a carefree six-year-old; rather, it’s about gaining control over how we feel and allowing ourselves to experience more happiness.
Marci developed a beautiful program based on her book, using the analogy of a home. Imagine yourself as your own home, with different rooms. Some rooms are neat and tidy, while others use a little attention.
The seven key areas are:
The Foundation: This is where we take ownership of our own happiness.
Then come the Four Pillars:
-
The Mind: Learning to quiet its constant chatter.
-
The Heart: Allowing it to guide our decisions.
-
The Body: Committing to its care.
-
The Soul/Spirit: Listening to its quiet wisdom.
The Roof represents discovering our purpose.
And finally, the Garden symbolizes finding supportive people in our lives.
Each area of the home is explored in a separate workshop. We take the time to learn how to nurture each space and set it up for success. Think of it like painting the walls, cleaning the carpets, rearranging the furniture, clearing out the closets, and tidying up your belongings.
You don't need to be on an illness journey; that's just my personal story. I honestly wish I'd had these tools long before my health scare.
This program is truly for anyone ready to "flip the switch" and live their life to its absolute fullest. Imagine:
-
More moments of contentment.
-
More moments of taking charge of your life.
-
More moments of simply being authentically you, and truly loving yourself.
-
More moments of feeling utterly worthy.
I am a certified trainer of Happiness for No Reason, and sticking with our turtle analogy, I would be absolutely thrilled to help you emerge from your shell and swim in this beautiful ocean of life with me.
I'm excited to be offering workshops in Central Oregon, as well as on Zoom.

(Yes, that's with an '8,' which I think is pretty cool—tip it on its side, and it looks a bit like the infinity sign!)
